It Is What It Is

It is what it is
I was only looking for a shortcut home
But it’s complicated
So complicated
Somewhere in this city is a road I know
Where we could make it
But maybe there’s no making it now
Too long we’ve been denying
Now we’re both tired of trying
We hit a wall and we can’t get over it
Nothing to relive
It’s water under the bridge
You said it, I get it
I guess it is what it is
I was only trying to bury the pain
But I made you cry and I can’t stop the crying
Was only trying to save me
But I lost you again
Now there’s only lying
Wish I could say it’s only me
Too long we’ve been denying
Now we’re both tired of trying
We hit a wall and we can’t get over it
Nothing to relive
It’s water under the bridge
You said it, I get it
I guess it is what it I
Here it comes ready or not
We both found out it’s not how we thought
That it would be, how it would be
If the time could turn us around
What once was lost may be found
For you and me, for you and me
Too long we’ve been denying
Now we’re both tired of trying
We hit a wall and we can’t get over it
Nothing to relive
It’s water under the bridge
You said it, I get it
I guess it is what it is
I was only looking for a shortcut home
But it’s complicated
So complicated….

May your shade be sweet …

It’s been awhile since I could really sit up and write. Been pretty weak as of late. Recuperating has its own merits though, right? I have been watching a lot of movies, re-watching some I couldn’t quite recall all. And I absolutely fell in love with this song, “Shade and Honey” from the movie “Laurel Canyon”. And a bonus: all the beautiful actors in the movie: Frances McDormand, Alessandro Nivola, Christian Bale and Kate Beckinsale.

And the fact that sexy Alessandro Nivola sings this great song, only made it sweeter:

I could look in your face
For a thousand years
It’s like a civil war
Of pain and of cheer
But if you was a horse
I could help you with your chains
I could ride you through the fields
By your fiery mane

May your shade be sweet
And float upon the lakes
Where the sun will be
Made of honey

I cry diamonds while you burn
‘Cause no one here can save you
She’s returning to the Earth
But one day she’ll be silver
Stars are dying in my chest
‘Til I see you again
She was born with the wings of a hawk
Where she combs her hair with blood

May your shade be sweet
And float upon the lakes
Where the sun will be
Made of honey

May your shade be sweet
May your shade be sweet
Where the sun will be
Made of honey

May your shade be sweet…
May your shade be sweet…

And float upon the lakes…

May your shade be sweet…

Thank you!

Just finished watching the movie, “Sliding Doors”…movie from 1998, quite a pleasant surprise! ♥ John Hannah…and Gwyneth Paltrow wasn’t too bad either. 🙂

James: Cheer up. Remember what the Monty Python boys say.
Helen: “Always look on the bright side of life”?
James: No, “Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.”

Lost and Found – Katie Herzig

I know you left me standing there
Out of the calm of the coldest air
I don’t believe the words you said
But I can’t find the words I want
Oh, I can’t find the words I want

If you were gone in another life
I don’t believe I would just survive
I could feel you next to me
An escape from the world I’m in
Oh, I’m afraid of the world I’m in

One day I will see Heaven’s reach
I’ll find the one who left me sleeping
Every war was another seed
That could feed every soul in need
Oh, I’m worn by the war in me

Somebody found me here
Somebody held my breath
Somebody saved me from the world you left
If you’re gonna cry my tears
If you’re gonna hold my breath
If you’re gonna let me see the sun you set
Oh, I am lost and found
Oh, I am lost and found

Somebody found me here
Somebody held my breath
Somebody saved me from the world you left
If you’re gonna cry my tears
If you’re gonna hold my breath
If you’re gonna let me see the sun you set
Oh, I am lost and found
Oh, I am lost and found

I have cried 1000 oceans….

Working from home today…again…due to this crazy winter weather we have been having. Watching movies…enjoyed “Here on Earth” with three beautifully gifted young talents: Chris Klein, Josh Hartnett, and Leelee Sobieski.

Heard this song in today’s movie: 1000 Oceans by Tori Amos…had to share….♥ Since I too, have cried 1000 oceans….
